A deeper look into Amanda Michelle
I’m Amanda. Artist, deep thinker, light chaser, people-lover, story-driven, foodie, dog mom (x2), wife, and hopefully on my way to being the latest addition to your wedding day ;)
From the first wedding I ever shot in a dimly lit Catholic Cathedral in the Winter of 2012, to current-day shooting in beautiful places like Santa Barbara, Cabo, the hills of Spain, and the bluffs of the hill country (where I so gratefully get to call home), I’ve kept bits and pieces of each heart and soul I’ve captured in my back pocket to hold onto forever.
Starting out, I wanted to capture weddings simply for the love of photography/visual storytelling. Through the years, this love of photography & filmmaking has morphed seamlessly with my love of observing the human spirit that fills a space. Some of my favorite, most interesting, and impactful conversations have been with uncle Bob or aunt Betty at a wedding! Every wedding opens up an opportunity to connect and capture something unexpected.
Photography has come a long way from just raising a camera and making photographs when I was 15 years old; it’s developed into a beautiful overarching chemistry. And, it just so happens that it all [the photographs & films] winds up being something my clients get to keep forever - to hang on their walls, put in their family photo albums, show to their one-day kids, reminisce together on every anniversary.
Each client I serve & create for truly feels personally hand selected for me by some greater force, and for that I am SO grateful.
Amanda Michelle Photo & Film’s purpose is simple: create mindfully, document fully, and serve with a whole heart.

I’m based out of Austin, TX, but this camera in my hand has taken me all over the world, and it’s something I’m incredibly grateful for. I’ve been creating images since 2011, and have no plans on stopping any time soon. After receiving my BFA Filmmaking degree in 2018, I was eager to blend motion pictures+audio into my business in order to give clients the best of both worlds.
If I can take part in capturing even a tiny portion of your lives, that’s an incredible honor that I don’t take lightly. I understand and appreciate that moments are irreplaceable.
I’m always pushing to find ways to make sure i capture exactly how it all felt, pushing my intuitive approach a little further with every moment I freeze.
